The Bartow County Genealogical Society, Inc. has an extensive family research library that is open to the public. Our goal is to raise the standards of Genealogical research over the State of Georgia, especially Bartow/Cass County, through education programs, workshops, and the gathering of, and preservation of important documents for the future.

The Bartow County Genealogical Society is at 101 North Erwin Street. This is the location of the Cartersville Bartow Cultural Arts Alliance. We share this building with other groups. The Bartow County Genealogical Society will sponsor a family history workshop on Saturday, April 6, 2013, from 9:00 until 1:00 at the Genealogical Society Library. A program entitled “Researching Family History from 1730 to 1840” will focus on readily available resource material. Utilizing wills, deeds, church records, pension records and miscellaneous court records, Richard Greene will outline the processes for successfully developing the framework for a family history project. Each attendee will be provided numerous abstracts and transcriptions of the records discussed during each segment of the workshop. The charge for the workshop will be $10.00 and reservations can be made in advance by calling the Bartow County Genealogy Society office at 770-606-0706. Please leave message if no answer.
